“Analysis for foundry sand using flat milling system”
 Foundry sand is raw material for mold composed of aggregate sand, bentonite, and various additives. The materials of these sand are changed by repeated polishing, therefore evaluation for the reconditioned sand is necessary. Here, cross section of foundry sand was prepared by mechanical polishing and flat ion milling, and observed and analyzed with SEM. Morphology of repeatedly used foundry sand and status of bentonite and various additive attached to the surface were clearly observed.
