“SEM observation of a swollen reverse osmosis membrane by ionic liquid treatment”
 Skin layer on RO (Reverse Osmosis) membrane surface, playing a prominent role in separating salts and water, was observed under dry and ionic liquid wet conditions. While protrusions of skin layer shrank under dry condition, swollen state was observed under wet condition.
