”Direct observation of Li-atoms for Positive Electrode Materials of Li-ion batteries”
 LiCoO2 (LCO), a positive electrode material for Li-ion batteries, was observed using aberration corrected STEM. While Cobalt atomic columns were clearly observed in the ADF(Annular Dark Field)-STEM image, light elements, Lithium and Oxygen, were not seen. On the other hand, ABF(Annular Bright Field)-STEM detects low-angle scattered electrons on the annular detector to directly visualize Lithium atoms.
